What's New
What changed, and when
This page logs every change to this site with the date it went live: new codes, new guides and fixes. Every code is checked against a public source before it ships, and a code that cannot be sourced does not go up.
Newest first.
This site today
- 655 codes, each with the meaning, the usual causes and the order to check
- 3 guides, listed below
- Every entry records where its meaning came from, and how many independent sources agree
Guides on this site
Clearer source notes and easier navigation
October 17, 2026
Code pages now show their source references and limits more clearly. Guides have section shortcuts and a compact code lookup, and keyboard navigation, focus visibility and link targets are easier to use.
New repair-order look across the site
October 16, 2026
The whole site now reads like a repair order: a lookup box up top, results as line items, and each code page laid out as findings then the order to check them. Every code page, guide and the sitemap share the same sheet.
Search now reaches the words you actually use
October 16, 2026
Typing a symptom like misfire, fuel pump or no start finds the codes behind it. Long result lists cap at 25 with one button to show the rest.
Cause lists made specific to each code
October 10, 2026
Codes that shared one generic cause list now carry their own, each naming the door, cylinder, sensor or circuit its own code describes. Nine codes that showed a severity label now name the lamp that lights.
561 to 611 codes, and this page
September 29, 2026
Ford gained 50 sourced codes today, one of them a body code cluster that took two source pages each to confirm. This page now lists every change to the Ford site with dates, and the footer links the free tools for site owners: the embeddable lookup box and the full code list as CSV and JSON. See it.
50 more codes and two new guides
September 26, 2026
Ford grew to 561 codes, all of them sourced before publishing. Two guides went up with them: PATS codes and no-start problems, and ABS and traction control codes.
Ford fuel and ignition codes guide
September 25, 2026
A new guide covering how Ford sets fuel trim and oxygen sensor codes, how the ignition family differs, and the order to check before parts.
Severity now names the real warning lamp
September 25, 2026
Body and chassis codes used to say Check Engine Light. Airbag faults now say Airbag Light, brake faults say ABS Light, and the rest say body or chassis warning light, which is what you actually see on the dash.
Two more PATS and body codes
September 13, 2026
U1900, U2023 and B1596 joined the catalog with sources recorded.
Ford ABS and chassis coverage
September 6, 2026
The catalog reached 508 codes with the ABS and chassis additions.
The Ford site opened
September 4, 2026
Ford, Lincoln and Mercury codes got their own site, 23 codes on the first day and 99 by the end of it.
Tools for site owners
The free lookup box, for a site that wants a code search without sending readers away: the embed page. It matches your own styling and opens in a new tab, so you keep the reader.
The whole generic code list is free to reuse as CSV or JSON, and generic OBD-II codes live on OBD Codes List.
