Loss of Keep Alive Memory Power - Open Circuit
Findings, check these first
- Blown keep-alive memory fuse
- Recent battery disconnect or replacement
- Corroded battery cables dropping memory voltage
- Open KAM power wire to the PCM
- Failing PCM memory circuit
Standard procedure
- Check the KAM fuse. It is separate from main PCM power
- Inspect battery cables and grounds for corrosion
- Verify battery voltage at the PCM KAM pin
- Check whether adaptations reset (rough idle, shifting) after each key-off
- Repair the open circuit rather than replacing the PCM first
